I’ve been using the same girths since late 90s when I switched from neoprene to Softsides. I have a brown & black in several sizes for use on different horses with different saddles. Today I only own 8 horses, but there was a time when I owned more than 30 and spent most of everyday riding! So, these 4 girths endured that and are still in use! Leather provides the ability to contour the girth and give relief to that sensitive tender area behind the elbow. Wider in the center for balance & equalization of pressure and wide at the buckles. Fully lined in neoprene for comfort, strength & to prevent chaffing. Sweat allows the neoprene to glide as opposed to rub. Listing is for black leather girths left in my inventory as I close my tack shop permanently. I will list Brown girths on a different listing because I haven’t figured out how to list both in the same listing. My brain is getting old! SoftSides girths are leather neoprene lined girths made by Ortho-Flex or Ortho-Flex Saddleworks, by Saddlemaker, Art Boehs who founded Timberline after Len Brown left Ortho-Flex. Some of the girths listed herein are marked Ortho-Flex, some are marked Timberline. No idea why they were left unmarked. As far as I’m concerned, they are all Ortho-Flex or Ortho-Flex quality, since Art was Len Brown’s saddlemaker & so I make no brand distinction in the listing. The only real difference is that s. Ome have 2 dee rings & some have only 1 dee ring. I simply got tired of having to take the girth off and turn it around to attach my breast collar. Ortho-Flex refused at first to make them with 2 Ds for the same price, so I got in touch with Art, who gladly made them custom for me. I do make that distinction.
